Diabetes Awareness for Schools - Course Details
Course intro:
This Diabetes Awareness course is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge required to respond to an emergency where an adult or child requires emergency treatment hyperglycaemia or hypoglycaemia. The legislation that covers the interactions of staff around Diabetes and medication is SI No.449 of 2015 Medicinal Products (Prescription and Control of) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2015 and PHECC clinical practice guidelines (CPGs)

- Awareness around medication
- Legislation and Responsibilities (Incl Local Policy)
- Actions when there is a Diabetic emergency
- Use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- Calling 999/112
- CPR (Adult/Child/Infant)
